The Webb County Appraisal District (WCAD) hereby gives public notice of the 2020 capitalization rate that will be used to appraise low income housing property qualifying for an exemption under Section 11.1825(r), of The Texas Property Tax Code (TPTC). WCAD has adopted 9.75% as the 2020 capitalization rate.
This notice is given pursuant to TPTC, Section 11.1825(r), the Chief Appraiser shall give public notice in the manner determined by the district, including posting on the District's website, of the capitalization rate to be used in that year to appraise property receiving an exemption under this section.
The Chief Appraiser must consider the "Income Approach to Value" method in its appraisal of low income housing property, exempt under TPTC Section 11.1825(r).
